Direct Payments

Amy’s House now offers a brokerage service to enable parents to choose how you organise your child’s care without having all the extra paper work.

Services provided - we will:

  • Find you a qualified, DBS checked personal assistant (PA) to accompany your child to activities

  • Provide support around employment law and arrange your Employment Liability insurance

  • Ensure your PA has up-to-date safeguarding training and any other training relevant to your child’s needs

  • Provide time sheets to record sessions and hours worked by personal assistant/s

  • Pay PA monthly via BACS, pay HMRC the tax deducted and provide wage slips for your records (payroll)

  • Help with setting up an additional bank account

  • Be a familiar face - many PAs are already working with your child at Amy’s House. If this is not the case we will arrange home visits to introduce them and allow time for your child to build a relationship

  • Arrange bookings for the activities your child chooses to do i.e. swimming.

  • Be available as a point of contact should you have any questions or concerns

  • Provide access to advice and information via our website

This support and all services will be covered in your costings for direct payments through the council - so will be at no extra cost to you.

All you need to do is inform the social worker responsible for your payments about the type of care you require and that Amy’s House will provide a brokerage service or, if needed, can manage your budget. Your social worker will then liaise with the Direct Payments team. Please contact Enquiries@amyshouse.org.uk for further information.

There is NO CHARGE to the families for the managing budget or brokerage service.

Sensory Room

Support and care for children with special needs and their families

Amy's House caters for children aged 5-18 and provides Saturday and school holiday sessions, family support, sensory room sessions, support in the home and inclusive activities in a safe and secure environment.

We work to reduce ignorance and prejudice faced by individuals with special needs through increasing awareness and understanding. The centre provides children with social interaction, care, education and exercise in a fun and stimulating environment, amongst a team of passionate and experienced carers who bring joy into their young lives.

Pick up and drop off service

We understand that not every parent has the time or the means to travel with their child to Amy’s House. Regardless of the reason and for a nomial fee to cover petrol, we can provide a pick up and drop off service so that no child has to miss out on their day with us.

Online Help

We are aware that there is an increasing number of families who require our help. Unfortunately even with the support of our most generous of fundraisers, are funds are limited and we can only physically help a limited number of families. In order to further support families of children with special needs, we are developing an online forum where you can gain support from other families and specialists, even if we aren’t able to physically help you at the time.

In the meantime if you need help please contact us at enquiries@amyshouse.org.uk and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
